Qatari-Russian relations: discussion of investment opportunities and exchange of experience

Recently, representatives of Qatar and the Committee for External Relations of the Government of St. Petersburg held a meeting in Doha. Its purpose was to discuss ways to strengthen economic and commercial ties, as well as Russia's foreign economic cooperation. In addition, investment opportunities and the development of common projects in a number of sectors were considered.

During the meeting, the special importance of strong relations between Qatar and Russia in all areas was emphasized. The Qatari side also stated that their businessmen and investors are extremely interested in the possibility of doing business in the Russian Federation.

At the same time, St. Petersburg is a leading investment destination. It is expected that representatives of the private sector of Russia and Qatar will exchange visits after the restrictions are lifted to discuss the further development of cooperation, as well as the establishment of active partnerships.

The Russian side, in turn, highly appreciated the development of Qatar in all areas, and in particular in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Both sides exchanged experience in hosting the event as Russia successfully hosted the tournament in 2018.
