Qatari-Ukrainian cooperation: a call for active investment

At recent meeting of the Qatari-Ukrainian joint committee, First Vice Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammed bin Twar al-Kuwari, called on Ukrainian companies to actively invest in Qatari projects.

He noted that recently the countries have managed to achieve stronger trade and economic relations, and the private sector of both countries has benefited from cooperation between the states. Al-Kuwari noted that the Ukrainian-Qatari business forum, which took place in February, made it possible to consider the prospects for cooperation between private sectors and the available investment opportunities in both countries.

He also met with the Chairman of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennady Chizhikov. Both representatives paid attention to the issues of strengthening cooperation ties between Qatari and Ukrainian businessmen, as well as expanding investment opportunities and introducing mutual investments in both countries. This step is necessary to optimize investment procedures on both sides.

The Vice Chairman invited Ukrainian companies to make the most of Qatar's available investment privileges in various sectors.

Qatar's particular focus is on the food security sector in line with the National Food Security Strategy 2018-2023. It is based on local manufacturing, domestic supply chains, international trade, logistics and strategic storage.

This sector offers great opportunities for cooperation between Qatari and Ukrainian companies to establish joint ventures in Qatar to increase food self-sufficiency, as well as to provide the Qatari market with the products it needs.
