Turkish Finance Minister to hold talks with foreign investors
Nureddin Nebati, the newly appointed Turkish finance minister, will travel to London to negotiate with foreign investors. His purpose is to discuss investment opportunities and present a new economic path for Turkey.
At present, the state's economic support scheme aims to encourage foreign currency holders to convert their funds into lira. Losses incurred by depositors due to the depreciation of the lira will be compensated. This initiative helped the lira rise and gain a foothold at its current level of 13.55 against the dollar.
As a result, 290 billion Turkish liras ($21 billion) were attracted to the country.
According to Nebati, thanks to the presentation of Turkey's new economic model and the stabilization of the currency over a two-month period, the opportunity to invest in the country could be of great interest to foreign investors.
The Minister will hold two meetings with potential investors in London, where he will tell in more detail about the advantages of investing in the Turkish economy. After that, Nebati, together with the President of the State, will visit the United Arab Emirates, and from there will go to Jakarta for the G-20 meeting. The Minister also plans to visit Bahrain and major Asian giants China, Japan and Singapore.
